At Eyes Wide Open we believe in the importance of regaining body wisdom towards wholeness. Integrating all elements of our being is essential for optimal health. Modern life has contributed to an image of self that is disconnected from the whole to which we belong and we relate to the body as if it were a set of parts instead of a whole.
Expressive arts have been used for catharsis since ancient times. In modern days, painting, music and dance are often used to support individual's therapeutic processes, and not only with individuals who have difficulty expressing feelings verbally.
Dance and movement therapies, for example, are based on the idea that movement reconnects body and mind.
At Eyes Wide Open we offer Medical QiGong, which uses mindful movement, visualization and breathing to keep the energy flowing in the body.
And we also offer The Trager Approach® and Neuromuscular Repatterning to help people break limiting restrictions that cause pain.
Traumatic experiences often lead to a dissociation from the body. The holistic approach to health that we offer at Eyes Wide Open to those seeking to heal body. mind and soul, facilitates a whole body experience that elicits sensing, feeling, and emotional patterns that have persisted since the experience of traumatic incidents.
