What Participants Gain

  • Understand the neuroscience of emotional regulation and its implications for parenting
  • Read children’s behavior as a language expressing unmet emotional needs (Adlerian framework)
  • Apply inductive discipline methods that develop cognitive empathy and moral reasoning
  • Guide parents through reflective practice — examining intergenerational patterns through transformative learning
  • Use stage-appropriate interventions matched to the family’s developmental moment (Carter & McGoldrick)
  • Support parents in moving from compliance and fear-based responses toward genuine connection and compassionate action

What Makes This Training Distinctive

HeartMinded Parenting brings the parent into the therapeutic process as an active participant — not peripheral, but central. It is grounded in family systems theory, neuroscience, Adlerian psychology, inductive discipline, and transformative learning, and aims not at behavioral compliance but at the development of cognitive empathy and principled moral reasoning in children.

Participants engage in the same reflective process they will facilitate with families, including guided journaling and individualized written feedback from Dr. Casabianca.
