At Eyes Wide Open, we belief that each person finds identity, meaning, and purpose through community, relationship with nature, and spiritual values such as compassion and solidarity.
Our approach is systemic — we see the whole person, not isolated symptoms. We focus on strengths, not weaknesses. On solutions, not labels. We trust that the body carries an intrinsic intelligence — what we call the Inner Healer — which, when supported, knows how to take us back to optimal health.
We see the human being as multidimensional: physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual. True compassionate support for healing needs to address all of these dimensions.
We welcome those who want to take conscious responsibility for their own health and growth — people with a reverence for life and a love for learning.

“Feelings, whether of compassion or irritation, should be welcomed, recognized, and treated on an absolutely equal basis; because both are ourselves. The tangerine I am eating is me. The mustard greens I am planting are me. I plant with all my heart and mind. I clean this teapot with the kind of attention I would have were I giving the baby Buddha or Jesus a bath. Nothing should be treated more carefully than anything else. In mindfulness, compassion, irritation, mustard green plant, and teapot are all sacred.”
